"Sharing our Passion for Dance with each Step" - Song In Your Step was created to fulfill this purpose. Its founder, Deborah Packard, began dancing at the age of 16 when she took her first jazz class at a local community college in Southern California. Deborah developed her passion for ballroom dance while attending Brigham Young University from 2002 - 2006. During her studies at BYU, Deborah danced as a member of the ballroom dance company for two and a half years performing frequently with the team as well as touring to Nauvoo for two weeks. In addition to receiving her BA in Ballroom Dance, Deborah also received honors recognition in her medals exams in Gold American, Gold Standard, and Silver Latin. After graduating, Deborah taught ballroom dance at a studio in Redmond, Washington. In July 2008 she was offered the position of Assistant Ballroom Dance Director at Southern Utah University. This position provided Deborah with experience in team formations, choreography, and advanced instruction. After a year of teaching internationally, she is currently running her own dance business at Sunrise Studios. |
